Ladies and Gentlemen, May we present to you an entertaining and wonderful program:
At the Circus Harmony Center on the third floor of City Museum and at numerous outreach locations throughout the St. Louis area, we teach a wide array of circus arts for ages 5 and up. At Circus Harmony, we say circus teachers the art of life. While our students are learning to flip, fly and juggle, they are also learning important life skills like focus, persistence and teamwork. By turning you upside down we teach you to stand on your own two feet. By dropping objects we teach you to catch them. By having you walk all over someone we teach you to take care of them. By having you clown around we teach you to take yourself seriously.
Actual circus performers teach you tumbling, juggling, partner acrobatics, stilt- walking, rolling globe, wire-walking, pyramids, trapeze, clowning and more. If you think you are too old to runaway and join the circus, you should know our oldest student is 86 and takes our trapeze classes! Teachers can come to you or you can come to our facility on the third floor of the fantastic City Museum in downtown St. Louis.
Our staff is headed by Jessica Hentoff, who has over 39 years of circus teaching and performing experience. Ms. Hentoff has performed throughout North America as an aerialist, trick cyclist, clown, juggler, fire-eater and animal trainer. She has taught circus skills to people of all ages and abilities including deaf children and teenagers with Downs Syndrome. Jessica’s remarkable vision and use of circus arts to build character and community has brought about ground-breaking and bridge-building programs like Circus Salaam Shalom which brought together Jewish and Muslim children, Far East Meets Midwest which combined Asian and Midwestern arts and artists and Peace Through Pyramids, an ongoing collaboration between the St. Louis Arches of the United States and the Jewish/ Arab Galilee Circus in Israel.
Spring 2014 sessions begin Monday, January 27, 2014.
